TREATMENT OPTIONS

Western Clinical Massage Therapy

Often called "deep tissue" and "Swedish" massage, this is the practice Americans are most familiar with. Western massage therapy is practiced skin on skin, often with oil, where the client undresses and modesty is maintained with a sheet, each body part being uncovered and re-covered throughout the session. All of my work is considered "deep tissue," no matter the style, as my approach is one of addressing pain and dysfunction in the muscles and connective tissue.

Pressure Point Massage

Thai Bodywork

Thailand has a long tradition of folk medicine based on an Eastern system of sen lines, very similar to Traditional Chinese Medicine and its meridians. Thai Bodywork is practiced fully clothed, on a mat on the floor, in 360 degrees. During this session, your muscles will be compressed and stretched in many directions, accessing stuck spots that other therapies often neglect. Thai Bodywork is practiced along with intentional breath and often can feel like a great yoga class or meditation session.  Be sure to wear something comfy.

Pregnancy Massage

Certified Pregnancy Massage brings relief from postural strain and the aches that come with the changes throughout pregnancy. Massage can be beneficial through all three trimesters, helping the client prepare her mind and body for the birthing experience. I am  certified in Pregnancy Massage and enjoy treating clients in both Western and Thai sessions. Bridging this practice with Thai Bodywork, I offer a unique approach to treating pregnant clients.

Each client is required to have permission from their doctor to receive massage during their pregnancy.

Sports Massage

Massage therapy can be an effective addition to your sports training and recovery. Massage can improve your performance, promote healthy tissue, inform workouts and training, as well as prevent injury. Massage can aid in the more rapid healing of injury and overuse strain, while creating body awareness. I bring my experience of working with marathoners, iron man competitors, retired olympic runners, and I inform my work through my own endurance sports.

Hot Stone

In this warming therapy, volcanic rocks are heated in water, placed with care on the client to warm muscles before massage and applied with Jojoba oil as a massage tool. This modality is a great way to warm up on cold days and to apply deep pressure without discomfort.

Aromatherapy Massage

Thai Herbal Compress

A traditional Thai treatment in which a compress of herbs is steamed and used to massage. The compress is prepared by Thai herbalists and filled with whole and ground herbs designed to reduce inflammation, stimulate the lymphatic system, increase circulation, and relieve muscular tension. This therapy can be applied during Thai and Western massage sessions.
